Random Photo: Water Droplet

Canon 7D with 100mm Macro.

This is one of the more difficult shots I’ve made (Luneta photowalk last Sunday).  With macro, the thin DOF and the high shutter speeds required usually results in out-of-focus subject.  For this photo (handheld), I set the aperture to a lower than usual macro aperture of f8 to get faster shutter speed and used the center point focused on the droplet.  In post processing, I blurred everything by increasing noise reduction (for the whole photo) then using the adjustment brush (full clarity, full sharpness and high contrast) for the water droplet.
